Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College

The 27th Annual Speech Day of Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College was successfully held on Wednesday 22 May 2019. The guest of honour was Prof Anthony Man-Cho So, Associate Dean (Student Affairs) of the Faculty of Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The ceremony was attended by over 200 guests, including Miss Jenny YC Tam, our School Supervisor; Ms Daisy CF Ho and Mrs Winnie WL Chan, Vice-Chairpersons of Po Leung Kuk; Dr Patrick WK Chan, Sponsoring Body Manager of the College’s Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) and former Vice-Chairperson of Po Leung Kuk; Mr Andrew Ngan and Mrs Carmen KM Ma, Directors of Po Leung Kuk; Mr Clifton KC Yeung, Sponsoring Body Manager of our IMC and Principal Education Secretary of Po Leung Kuk; Mr KH Ho, IMC Parent Manager; Ms Michelle YK Lee, Chairperson of our PTA; and Mr Kenneth CK Wong, Principal of Po Leung Kuk Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College, as well as parents of our graduates.

The ceremony started at 10:30 AM in the School Hall with an opening address by our supervisor Miss Jenny YC Tam. Our Principal, Dr Lee Poon-Shing, followed with the school annual report. Our guest of honour Dr So then gave a speech on how our graduates should equip themselves to face challenges ahead: first, to fully understand the present and plan accordingly; second, to widen one’s horizon and learn broadly; and third, to never lose heart in giving back to society. Guests then formally presented graduation certificates, as well as various scholarships and awards.

To requite, graduate representative Ms Gaby WT Chow delivered her graduation speech, musing on past years spent within the campus. Chow expressed her gratitude to the principal, teachers, and parents, and bade all students a good journey ahead, with hopes of meeting again someday.

The ceremony thus ended at noon with 166 graduating, guests and students alike made their way to the school canteen for photos and farewells.
